It’s the final hurrah from Denver! An historic presidential candidate formally accepts his party’s nomination on a night and in a place with no small significance. I have my box of Kleenex handy, do you?
The theme tonight is predictably “Change You Can Believe In” and the featured speaker is, of course, the Next President of the United States, the Junior Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama.
The order of the final night from Mile High Stadium from demconvention.com after the jump.

And quoth The Rock “Who in the bluest of blue hells is Sarah Palin?”

I think my background in strategy and policy analysis is still sharp.
I told my hubby a week ago that McCain would select either a woman or Lieberman to be his Veep in order to garner the female or Jewish vote respectively. However, I did think that McCain would put his negative views aside and pick a truly qualified woman such as Kay Bailey Hutchinson…not a newbie. I mean, if you’re 72 years old going into a presidential term, you do want someone who is prepared to take over. A 2-year term as Alaska governor and earlier experience as a small-town mayor just doesn’t cut it.
My other political analysis — I think that either the Bushies or McCain had some influence on the nation of Georgia to start something with their breakaway states in order to emphasize McCain’s foreign affairs experience. I find myself agreeing with Putin that something smells fishy and I don’t think it is the Palin family fishing vessel.

An article on Tumberlogging KO from Jossip:
“. There’s the Keith-Olbermann-threatens-to-quit item (unless he gets better security at the RNC, because he’s afraid of assassination attempts”
Actually, I’ve had the same fears myself!
Be careful out there, KO!!

Houstonian, that crap came from P6. Tell me that a man who freely walks down the streets of NYC and takes the subway to work, not to mention sits with his back to windows during his broadcast, is whining about security!

Page Six (and Post in general) has been hopping all over Keith and MSNBC all week.
I’m feeling extremely cynical about the choice of Palin. Also, check out this blog post from an actual Alaskan:

You’re right, Becky. But I still worry about my guy as he enters the den of iniquity.
Palin has less experience than “W” did when he became Prez. Haven’t the Repubs learned anything after Spiro Agnew and Dan Quayle?
To pick an unknown — an untested person who has only been in a leadership position for less than 2 years, in a state with a relatively small population and definitely limited urban issues — to be one 72-year-old heartbeat from Commander-in-chief, shows very poor judgment, IMHO. If he wanted the gender vote, he could have gone with Kay Bailey Hutchinson (although McCain dislikes her), at least she appeals to most of the base and has the experience.
And to hear a female voter say that Palin is qualified to lead this nation just because “she is a mother and a homemaker” made me wonder if I need to get out my broom and start sweeping floors to be taken seriously.
Give me a break.
And in a crowd like this, watch your back, my friend.
