There’s One For You, 19 For Me

This has been buzzing around the Right Wingnut-o-sphere for the past few days. I was wondering when it would be picked up by Fixed Noise’s partner in crime:

OlbermannWatch.com reports that New York state has issued a tax warrant or judgment against the MSNBC host for $2,269.50 in back taxes owed by his personal corporation, Olbermann Broadcasting Empire Inc. … “This was a bookkeeping disagreement between Keith’s accountants and the state which was resolved months ago,” an MSNBC spokesman told Page Six.

Which begs the question: How bored do you have to be before you take up tax record snooping as a hobby?

“This was a bookkeeping disagreement between Keith’s accountants and the state which was resolved months ago,” an MSNBC spokesman told Page Six.

I can hear this being said, dripping with contempt. Because, really, dude.

I’m sorry–”Olbermann Broadcasting Empire”?? Did he really choose that name??

Doesn’t “Olbermann Broadcasting Empire” have some relation to “The Big Show” book?

Yep. The copyright of The Big Show is (on Keith’s end) attributed to “Olbermann Broadcasting Empire.” Obviously a legal business entity Keith set up for tax purposes when he began publishing.

I smell Worst Person Wednesday!

It’s not boredom, it’s desperation. But it’s worked. After years of trying, Bob Cox has finally found himself a story that “has legs.”

The Associated Press picked it up, along with the comments and opinionizing of Olbermann Watch, meaning that the meme of Keith Olbermann, Tax-and-Spend Liberal Hypocrite Who Steadfastly Refuses to Pay His Own Taxes is spreading across the country’s conservatively inclined newspapers like a brush fire. And Olbermann Watch has finally (they hope) achieved the “legitimacy” they have striven for as watchdogs on the eevul liberal media.

Oh well, I guess we have to allow them their last hurrah over this piddling crap for as long as it lasts. The times they are a-changin’. And as far as I’m concerned, they cannot change quickly enough.
