I don't see how being slimed by KO's fans is any more fair than being slimed by his critics. In fact, it seems a lot worse ("et tu?").
And here's some news for the old-school feminist crowd -- young women today aren't constrained by the precise social mores they were in the early 1960s. Getting felt up at a party isn't grounds for a public stoning. For better or worse, we've come a long way from the three feet on the floor rule, and you're the ones to credit for it.
I say hurrah for that.

She may not, but she surely must realize that merely by virtue (?) of being Keith Olbermann's girlfriend, she is The Enemy in their eyes. She could be the reincarnation of Mother Teresa and they'd still rip her. As it is, she falls considerably short of nun status...and there are pictures of her on the Internets, courtesy of her ex-boyfriend and his pals, to prove it.

I look at it the same way I would regard the Facebook profile of a potential job applicant. Honey, if you want success, fame and fortune, you just might want to do what you can to ensure there are no drunk party pictures of you--or of you being fondled by guys not your boyfriend at the time--anywhere on the Internets. The same goes for those who want to get "engaged to be engaged" to prominent celebrities twice their age. And that goes for you guys, too.

The problem for Katy is that I don't see her scorned ex being motivated to take down those pictures anytime soon. Perhaps the pain of being thrown under the bus so she could run away with Keith still stings.

Yes, Katy's name is going to turn up from time to time, but I don't think she deserves all the bile directed at her from Olbermann Watch and their ilk.

Well put Orin! Putting her own freelance videos (where she pretends to be a reporter) up on Current.com leads me to believe that she definitely wants the world to, "Remember her name...FAME!" Sorry for the 80's Irene Cara reference - I couldn't help it.

Once again, I must disagree with the comments here about poor, put-upon "Miss Katy." She has not been a "private individual" since she chose to couple with Keith and he chose to name her in the media. Nor is her relationship with him a guarded and private thing, when Keith chooses to keep us constantly posted on its "progress" through the media.

As the lyrics to the old "Super Chicken" cartoon said, she knew the job was dangerous when she took it. You can't have it both ways. If Keith wanted a private relationship with an anonymous female who was never subjected to public criticism, he could have attempted one by not mentioning her name and not providing the media with updates and details on their life together. Then, if she had been outed anyway by the nosy, I could have felt sympathy. But not as things stand.

Otherwise...well, you know you've made it when the New York Pestilence leaps on the story:

<i>READERS of Playboy were so disgusted by the idiotic rantings of MSNBC loudmouth Keith Olbermann in the October issue, editor Chip Rowe tried to balance their vitriol by getting the head of an Olbermann fan site to pen a gushing note to run along with all the negative opinions. "He said that they were getting overwhelmingly negative response on the interview - mostly for the [anti-Fox News] remarks . . . that he'd like to balance that," says BloggingOlbermann.com founder Becky, who goes by her first name for privacy reasons, but was allowed to use the fake name "Becky Leibowitz" on Playboy's letters page. (Olbermann told Playboy: "Fox News is worse than Al-Qaeda - worse for our society.") Among the many angry letters in the January issue: "Olbermann deserves his own Worst Person award for not allowing anyone on his show who disagrees with him." Another slammed him as "frustrated, envious and unfocused."</i>

Well, well, Posties. Nice to know things haven't changed. Now shut up and give me a few copies--my catbox needs new liners.

I'm sorry, Becky, but "The Dude" is already taken -- that's my dog's nom de bone. And he is one mean growling machine police dog -- especially when he hears the word "Loofah."

Becky, if we follow Monty Python logic and believe that only the true Messiah denies his own divinity: You deny you are Katy Tur, so therefore only the true Katy Tur denies it!

Confess!

(OK, I was inspired by KO's "Life of Brian" reference in tonight's show.)
