Apparently the folks over at Daily Kos did what I could not in last night’s recap. KO responds:

Forgive the fairly minor focus here but I spot at least three diaries on [Lawrence O’Donnell’s] appearance on Countdown last night to discuss Obama, Reagan, and Edwards.

Those of you complaining about it are right.

His HuffPo piece was news to me.

Shouldn’t have been, obviously, but it was.

But even with these caveats, the point about this appearance, especially in the wake of such a freshly-written piece, is well-taken and I’m very sorry.

It will be addressed tonight on the show.

I really want this all to go away now. My sense of humor about it has evaporated rapidly since it’s become okay for random blogs to fling pejoratives my way and blatantly lie about the content of this site. I’ve not grown the rhinoceros hide that KO has.

Becky — this is a great little blog you have here. Always remember that.

The rest of the blogosphere will eventually forget about this. There are bigger fish for them to try to fry (namely, Keith himself).

Back on the subject of this post, it’s good to see leaving the occasional post/comment on the Daily Kos. I wonder if he’ll keep doing it?

I have the deepest respect for you — and all the editors — of ERT. Thanks for the time you devote to this site. Also, thanks for ensuring that the site is intelligent, witty, appropriately critical when necessary, and always snarky when necessary. Thanks for NOT turning it into a “fan” site, per se.

Your site is one of the first I hit each day — not because of KO as much as I feel I have a group of like minded (political, intellectual, literary) friends here. I have no ideas who you or where you live, but I do consider you friends. This becomes an oasis from the other blogs — even more progressive ones — that tend to attract disrespectful readers with agendas (HuffPO, unfortunately in the comments — ouch!).

Thanks again for creating a upscale, thoughtful place to talk about an upscale, thoughtful program.

Hey Becky, I wouldn’t worry too much about this, it will blow over. The neocons already figured out how to find all Keith’s comments at the Daily Kos and have posted a link where he talks about Katy knitting. I think they are moving on from the Playboy stuff now.

The KO forum has some grumbling about him apologizing too much to the Daily Kos folks. From the great movie Star Wars: “….these aren’t the droids you’re looking for…move along…”
