I’m trying out a midday open thread for a while. It seems silly to post an OT every morning on top of a recap that you probably haven’t had a chance to read yet.
As for today’s content, how about Dan Patrick joining Sports Illustrated?
Talk amongst yourselves.

I think it will be great fro DP. His new show is good but he needs some professional backup. And if his relationship with SI is more of a collaboration than an employer/employee one we may get the best of all worlds.
I just wish he would expand out a bit more from sports. He is great at sports but he needs something more. I don’t expect him to go into politics like KO, but how about music or entertainment? He seems very well versed in those areas. He certainly does a better job than either Musto or Tompkins chatting about celebrities. And his musical taste is excellent - he did a wonderful job when he was broadcasting from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I say redo the entire Keeping Tabs section of Countdown and add on DP to talk over culture issues with Keith.

Please, anyone except for MUSTO.
In case anyone thinks I am nuts (Well, I am, but that is another story), my fixation on the ties and shirts is related to color and comes from being a photographer. My life revolves around light and color and the interplay. I watch CSI:Miami in awe of the use of color filers and saturation to contrast deep water shades of blue to the orange reds of sun reflection on the buildings and even David Caruso’s hair.
In order to hold my attention, that attention must first be caught.
Someone made a comment a day ago or so about whomever dresses Keith being colorblind, which reminds me of an outfit I mentally dubbed Gay Leprechaun and fortunately have only seen once. It was a medium mint green jacket with a pink and white striped shirt and a deep rose tie with a pattern in the weave. YIKES, indeed.

Ditto on that, Hawaii.
However, isn’t SI associated with Time-Warner? So, if DP appears anywhere, it may end up being CNN?!?
